Privacy Policy

Last updated · April 29, 2026

Eudaimon is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We build free, AI-supported tools — including the Eudai chat companion — to help people grow self-awareness, emotional clarity, and independent thinking. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

We try to keep this document short and honest. If anything is unclear, email contact@eudaimonai.org and we will explain in plain English.

1. What we collect

When you use the Service, we collect:

  • Account information. If you sign in, we store the email address you use and a Eudaimon-generated user id. We do not require your real name.
  • Your conversations with Eudai. The messages you send Eudai and the replies Eudai gives you.
  • Reflection data. Quiz responses, dimension scores (across our five growth dimensions), points/streaks, Glow Cards you generate, and journal entries you save.
  • Telemetry. Routing decisions made by our supervisor agent (which worker handled a turn, which knowledge chunk was retrieved, latency, and similar operational signals). Telemetry helps us debug and improve quality.
  • Basic technical logs. IP address, device type, and browser, kept short-term for security and abuse prevention.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, biometric data, or any special-category data unless you choose to put it into a message.

2. How we use it

We use the data above to:

  • Generate Eudai's replies and personalize them to your growth context.
  • Track your progress across Eudaimon's growth dimensions and surface it back to you (radar, Glow Cards, recommended actions).
  • Operate, debug, and improve the Service.
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and safety risks (including watching for crisis signals so we can show you appropriate resources).
  • Communicate with you about service changes when needed.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show you ads. We do not use your conversations to train third-party general-purpose AI models, and our third-party AI providers are configured not to train their models on our API traffic (see Section 4).

3. Eudai is not a clinical service

Conversations with Eudai are not protected by therapist-patient, doctor-patient, or attorney-client privilege. Eudai is software. If you are in crisis, please call or text 988 in the US, or contact your local emergency number — see our Terms for more.

4. Third-party processors

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run the Service. Each one only sees the data it needs to do its job and is bound by its own contractual privacy and security obligations. To keep this policy stable as our stack evolves, we describe processors by category rather than by name:

  • Cloud hosting and edge functions — serves EudaimonAI.org and our APIs.
  • Database and authentication — stores your account, messages, reflections, dimension scores, and telemetry; runs sign-in.
  • AI model inference— generates Eudai's chat replies, computes embeddings for our knowledge base, runs the lightweight classifier that routes each turn, and provides text-to-speech for spoken replies. Our AI providers are configured not to train their models on our API traffic.
  • Transactional email — sends you account email such as sign-in links. We do not send marketing.

The specific vendors in each category may change as we improve the Service. You can email contact@eudaimonai.org at any time for the current list.

5. International transfers

Our processors are largely US-based. If you use the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service you consent to this transfer.

6. How long we keep data

  • Conversations and reflections: retained for as long as your account is active so Eudai can give you continuity. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8).
  • Operational telemetry: retained up to 13 months in identifiable form, then either deleted or aggregated into non-identifiable form for product research.
  • Security and abuse logs: retained up to 90 days unless we need to keep them longer for an active investigation.
  • Backups: may persist for a short additional window before they age out, even after a deletion request. We do not restore deleted data from backups except for disaster recovery.

7. Security

We use HTTPS in transit, encryption at rest at the database and storage layer (via Supabase), least-privilege service credentials, and row-level security so that one user's data is not visible to another. No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously and treat any incident with urgency.

8. Your rights and choices

You can:

  • Stop using the Service at any time.
  • Edit or delete individual reflections from within the app where supported.
  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by emailing contact@eudaimonai.org from the address tied to your account. We will respond within 30 days.
  • If you are in California, the EEA, or the UK, you may have additional rights (such as objection, restriction, and portability). Email us and we will help you exercise them.

9. Age requirement

The Service is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has used the Service, please email us and we will delete the relevant data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where reasonable, post a notice on the site.
