Intimacy

My partner says I'm "too sensitive" when I bring things up — now what?

The joke landed at dinner, and it's still sitting with you the next day. You know how this usually goes if you bring it up: it becomes about you being too sensitive, or it never happened at all.

You're allowed to name what something felt like without needing the other person to validate it on the spot. This is a place to practice saying it plainly, and to feel out what you'd say next if they deflect.

What you’ll practice
That joke last night — I want to talk about it

At dinner last night your partner made a joke at your expense. It landed harder than you expected. You want to name it. Her usual move is to first make it about you (you're too sensitive, you didn't say anything), then to deny it happened at all (I never said that).
